The Autumn Equinox offers special sentiment to me, it is also my wedding anniversary.
The cool Thursday, thirteen years ago, did not seem like a very significant day, but one person can change everything. That night, I fell in love.
And I’m still falling.
A day of balance, the equality of day and night, that is what the Autumn Equinox brings. Little did I know that would make the perfect conditions for two very different people to come together in a way that I still can’t quite describe.
Stephen and I married two years later on a Saturday, also the Autumn Equinox. We’ve been balancing each other out ever since. Life is a beautiful dance and I am so very thankful to have found such an amazing partner, fitted especially to me.

Autumn Equinox--
Perfect balance of day and light
Light and dark.
Cooler air and shorter days.
Time for renewal
Openness
Change.
Over a decade ago--
A nonnegotiable invitation to dinner
In a quiet college town.
Good friends,
a perfect night
For my life to change forever.
He strode in
Without a care in the world
On the surface.
I read something more,
His eyes do not lie.
Quiet confidence,
Shy smile
Steady manner.

Yet balance overcomes difference--

Light and Dark,
Boy and Girl.
